Bolivia, a land-locked country, has an active merchant shipping industry utilizing maritime ports in Argentina, Brazil and Chile.

Bolivia severed relations with Germany on April 13, 1917. This was considered equivelant to a declaration of war.

Even though Bolivia declared war on Germany, there is no reason to believe there was any active participation in the struggle.
